Thiru Navalur Sivan Temple

Thiru Navalur is situated about a km from ghedilam. ghedilam is in the national High way between Villupuram and Ulundepet . It is about 22 km from Villupuram.

Thiru Navalur is the birth place of the well known poet and Saint Sundarar.
  The stories are well known.
On the day of the marriage of Sundarar Lord Shiva came as a old man and stopped his marriage, stating that this bridegroom is a slave as per his grandfathers written agreement.

This went on for a dispute regarding the veracity of the agreement and finally settled against Sundarar. And he finally realized this is all the Leela of the Lord Shiva.

Those were the Lingas of the Saptha Rishi in the temple. Note that there are no female part of the Linga Because all the Rishis were celibates.
